Supporting Princess Alice Hospice

Christmas Tree Collection 2027

This Christmas we’re helping Princess Alice Hospice with their Christmas tree collection. Their volunteer elves will pick up real Christmas trees from doorsteps across most KT postcodes, and our team will be there with our chippers turning every tree into chip so it gets recycled instead of going to landfill.

Every donation goes towards the hospice’s free end of life care and bereavement support for local families. Last year they collected more than 1,300 trees and raised over £28,000. This year they’re aiming for 1,400 trees and £35,000.

Princess Alice Hospice Christmas tree collection: your Christmas tree has one last gift to give

How it works

  1. Book your collection and make a donation at pah.org.uk/tree
  2. Take all the decorations off and put your real tree outside by 7am on Friday 8 January 2027
  3. The hospice’s volunteers will collect it on 8, 9, 10 or 11 January and bring it to us to be chipped

Please make sure your tree is completely bare. Take off every decoration before you put it out, including lights, tinsel, baubles, hooks and any stand or pot. We can’t put a tree through the chipper with anything still on it, and having to strip trees on the day slows the whole collection down.

Bookings close at midnight on 4 January 2027, or sooner if all 1,400 places go, so it’s worth booking early.

The first 100 people to book get a handmade Christmas bauble from the hospice as a thank you, and those are going fast.

Why we’re helping

Princess Alice Hospice in Esher is just down the road from us in Hersham, and it cares for families right across the areas we work in. Chipping trees is what we do every day, so lending our chippers and our team for the weekend felt like an easy way to help. If you’ve got a real tree this year, please book a collection. It’s a simple way to recycle your tree and support some brilliant local care.
