Treemedic & Treeapp: We Plant a Tree for Every Job

We’re proud to be partners with Treeapp since August 2024. Every job we complete, tree pruning, felling, hedge cutting, planting, funds a new tree going in somewhere it’s needed, at no extra cost to you.

We picked Treeapp for one reason above all others: you can actually verify it works. They publish a public record of every tree planted through our partnership, so it’s not us asking you to take our word for it.

Why This, and Why Now

Only around 13% of the UK’s land is woodland, low compared to most of the rest of Europe. Tree surgery inevitably means some trees come down, whether that’s a genuinely dangerous one, a diseased one, or one that’s simply outgrown its space. Being partners with Treeapp means we can make sure something goes back in the ground to balance that, ideally somewhere the loss of tree cover matters more than it does in a Surrey back garden.

How It Works

  • You book a job:

    Any of our tree care services counts, pruning, felling, hedge cutting, planting, stump grinding, emergency work. No minimum spend, nothing extra to ask for.

  • We finish the work:

    Once the job's done, a tree gets planted through Treeapp on your behalf. This happens automatically, you don't need to do anything.

  • Treeapp plants it:

    They choose the location based on where reforestation is needed most, working with local organisations and NGOs on the ground rather than just planting anywhere convenient.

Where the Trees Actually Go

Treeapp runs planting sites across multiple countries, but one worth mentioning here is a lot closer to home: a site in Northamptonshire, on land that used to be degraded agricultural ground with heavy, poorly-draining soil. It’s being restored to extend the native woodland next to it and bring back the kind of habitat that supports birds and wildlife that struggle on open farmland. Not every tree planted through the partnership goes there, Treeapp plants across a network of sites depending on where the need is greatest at the time, but it’s a good example of the kind of land being brought back into use.

Does this cost me anything extra?

No. It’s included in the price of the job, not an add-on or upgrade you need to ask for.

No, Treeapp decides planting locations based on where reforestation will have the most impact at the time, not on a job-by-job basis. It’s part of why the scheme works at scale rather than being a token gesture per customer.

Yes. Every completed job funds a tree, regardless of size. We don’t set a minimum spend for it.

We do plant trees and hedges as part of our actual service work when a client wants that, that’s a different thing to this partnership. Treeapp’s strength is reforesting land at scale in places where tree cover has been lost and needs restoring, which isn’t always somewhere in Surrey. Both matter, they’re just solving different problems.

Being partners with Treeapp sits alongside our wider Green Promise, which also covers things like our use of battery-electric tools. Treeapp is one part of that, not the whole of it.
